Paula's and Brian's new experiences in Figueras!

Today, 18th of May 2010, I and Brian went to Figueras with 4C and our English teachers, and had a very good time together!!

We asked the majority of people that were in the Dalí Museum, but only THREE PEOPLE, wanted to answer our questions... -.-''. Now we think that the tourists don't want to waste their time with interviews and more.



Well, now we're going to show you our two interviews:

OK, that is the first interview that we do in the morning. The second and last interview, we did it to two persons that come from England. They didn't want to got recorded, so we'll write the conversation. ;) ________________________________________________________________

1. Where are you from?
We are from England.

2. Are you on holidays here? Are you having a good time?
Yes, well, we have an apartment in Banyoles, and every year we stay here for two months, and yes, we're having a very good time.

3. Why did you choose Catalonia for your holidays?
Because here there is a lot of sun and good beaches, and good weather.

4. Where are you staying?
In Banyoles, for two months.

5. Are you with a group? How many people are you with?
No, we aren't with a group.

6. How long are you staying in Catalonia/Spain?
For two months.

7. Do you speak Spanish or Catalan?
No, but we understand some things.

8. Do you think people here speak good English?
Yes, usually.

9. Have you visited other places in Catalonia/Spain?
Hmm, País Basc, Cantabria, Madrid, Barcelona... a lot.

10. Which place did you like best?
Barcelona, and País Basc.

11. Which didn't you like so much?
Figueras, it's not so big.

12. What do you think of the Dali Museum?
It's good, but we prefer the beach.

13. Do you like Catalan/Spanish food?
Not so much.

14. Have you bought any souvenirs?
No, and we won't buy.

15. Are Catalans/Spanish friendly in your opinion?
No so much. Spanish more than Catalans, but no, no.

16. Would you like to come back again?
Yes, we usually return here.

This is the last interview that we did, because nobody want to participate with our project. At least we asked to 15 people, but anyone wanted to do it. We were so angry, and are.

Experiences*

Experience: I've travelled to Belgium.

Lesson: There, the people spend a lot of time in home with the family, they don't pass a lot of time outside, they prefer stay in home warmer. They eat a lot of pralines, and less fruit. The meat it's insipid, but the beer and the stewed are good.

Experience: I've got a lot of diferent friends.
Lesson: There are basically three types of friends:

• Good friends. Normally these friends are the friends of the infancy. There aren't too much persons in these group, even so, sometimes you think that you have a lot of good friends, but really you have 3, or 4. A real friend is there for the good things and the bad things. You can always take his hand if you have to...
  

• Bad friends. This group is for the people that you think that are good friends, or common friends, but then, you see that they're fools. Soon, or later, or never, until they play a dirty to you. The worst bad friend that can exist it's the false, the worst person you can have around.
  

• Common friends. This group include the people that you know, or you have in class, and you can rely on, but they don't understand or help you like the good friends. If you need help, they try to help you, and they are kind!

Experience: Fall off bike a lot of times.
Lesson: I will not catch a bike if there is not a extreme situation, or a very good trip. I hate bicicles, and I've hurt a lot of times for them.

- Because he wrote a lot of the best stories of the world. And now, we recognized his work, and his art. When a man tells his stories so many times, that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way, he becomes immortal.

Book Exam.

1. Can you summarize the book in two minutes?
The book is the biography of Agatha Christie. A very good writer of mistery books. He write her first story with eighteen years old. She sent a lot of stories to typewriters, but they all returned the stories.

When Agatha was twenty-one, her mother was ill. They went to Egypt for the good climate. There Agatha knew Reggie. A young man that then she will like. Reggie asked Agatha to marry him. Reggie had to go to Hong Kong, and they said that in two years, if there isn't anybody, they will get married.

Agatha went to a party, and a man asked she to dance. She likes he. His name was Archibald Christie. And a week later, Agatha's mother phones she. She said to Agatha that one man was in their house. Archie Christie. They went to two concerts together. Then, Archie asked Agatha to marry him.

Agatha and Archie got married a little time ago, and then Agatha was working in a hospital.
Then, Agatha began write a detective novel, and the principal character was Hercules Poirot.
The book wasn't good for the typewriters.

Two years later, Agatha had a baby. Then, a typewriter sent a letter to Agatha. They published her novel.

When her novels were going famous she disappeared. Then, she appeard walking in the street. Nobody knows where she was.

Agatha loved archaeology, and she went to a lot of places to look for rests.
Then, Agatha write a lot of books, a lot of them was the best books of she. This period was the better period of his life.

She died in 12th of January, 1976.

2. Setting: When and where does the story take place?
Primary, in her house, in Greenway. And she travel a lot, for Marocco, Egypt...

3. Who are the main characters in the story?
Agatha, Archibald, Reggie, and Clara (Agatha's mother).

4. Choose one character (main or secondary) and describre him/her.
Reggie.
Reggie was a young boy, a shy boy who likes to play golf. He hates dance, and the parties, and liked to stay alone a little time. He was the first boyfriend that Agatha had. Agatha and Reggie met when Agatha was eighteen years old, and they were in love. Reggie had to go, and when he came back, Agatha was with Archie.

5. Choose your favorite moment in the story.
When Agatha travelled around the world, for studying a little archaeology.

6. Which new key words have you learnt to understand the story?
cheat --> to do something that is not honest.
dig --> to make a hole in the ground.
guess --> to give an answer when you don't know if it's right or wrong.
maid --> a woman who works as a servant in a hotel or in somebody's house.
moor --> a large piece of wild hilly ground without trees.
mosque --> a building where Muslims go to say their prayers.

7. Provide an alternative ending.
Agatha didn't became famous, and she had a very normal life.

8. Would you recommend this book? Why?
Yes. Because it's a really strange but cool book. All the book is a biography. I only recommend this book to people that like Agatha Christie, because if you don't like it, I think that it's going to become a boring book.

THE BERLIN WALL

1. When was the wall built?
The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 for the East Germany.

2. Why was the wall built?
Because the East Germany didn't want to stay next the West Germany. The wall was built in the middle of Berlin, separating the East Berlin and the West Berlin.

3. How long was the wall?
The Wall was about 156 kilometres long.

4. What do we celebrate on the 8th November 2009?
The fall of Berlin Wall.

5. What is the present situation of this wall?
The wall has been destroyed. But there are a some rocks.

6. Another wall that separates people?


The israeli wall.

• Introduction.

The israeli wall it's a wall that it's built by the Israel government in July 2007. The wall has been created for separate Cijordania with Israel. The wall is about 721 km.

The wall have a fence sistem and wire fences along the 90% of the wall, and the other 10%, it's a cement wall, about 7 m tall.

The wall is already stand up, and the countries are separated yet.I want all the walls in the floor.

A Day In My Life!

This friday 30th of October, I had a nice day. Now, I'm gonna describe this day...

I got up with the damn alarm clock at 7 am. I had fifteen minutes to have a shower, get dressed, have the breakfast, and run to the bus stop.
Luckly, at 8:30 am the bus was already there when I arrived. I went up the bus, and when I listened the horrible sound of the loud electronic músic, I knew that this day was going to be bad.
I arrived to the high school. I passed the 4 hours that I had to stay there. For this hours, I didn't pass a bad day, yet.

Then, when I arrived home from the school, I had lunch, and immediatly then, I delete all the homework for the week.

Then, I went to the computer. I connected the messenger, and i began to speak with Kevin, my boyfriend. He told me that Cristian, another friend, invited me this night to a party in Figueras. Also, he told me that that night, were going to be two Germans. At that moment, I couldn't imagine the today's incredible night.

We arrived to Figueres at 10pm. When I saw on of the two German's guys (with his blond, beauty, curly and long hair) looked me with his blue and deep eyes, he amazes me for 3 seconds.

Then, we started to speak. We spoke all the night long. He told me that he plays the drums with a glam metal band! He really strikes me. The other guy has long brown hair, and he sings in a death metal band!

My friends and I immadiately began a friendship with.

The time to go arrived too early. We had to go, but now, I have friends in Germany!

I think that this day was one of the best days of my life.

I'm Paula De Scheemaeker Cruset from 4B, and this is my presentation.

Hi,

I'm Paula De Scheemaeker Cruset and I live in St. Pere Pescador. I'm 15 years old. My father is from Belgium, and my mother is from here, Catalunya. All my life I lived here, but my family and I go there one time every year. And I'm really interested in English.

My English began in 1rst of primary, in school. Then, in 4th of primary, I continue doing my classes in school, but I began to go lessons in my town. I continue doing classes for 5 years, and I learn a lot of this language. Now, I don't have a lot of time, and I'm not going to do classes more (I'll do lessons only in school).

After 4th of ESO, I'll do the cientific batxillerat in IES Castelló d'Empúries, and then, I will go to university, and I'll begin to do a medicine career, because I want to be a forensic, a doctor, or a biologist, I don't know. But that is what I love, and what I want to do. And that is my dream. That is what I will archieve, I'M SURE!


PD: I really enjoy the ''aula d'idiomes class'' that's very good and interesting!!

I & Beagles!

I have chosen this dog because I believe that it suits well in my personality. It belongs to the BEAGLE race, they are playful with the people that they know.

- They love sleeping. They sleep like a log!

- They are hunting dogs. The man used them for hunting for 500 years. Protects the people that they know if they are in danger.

- They eat everything. They would never stop.

- They are a very adaptable dogs. They can live in a garden, or into a house. But it's recommended that they have free space for making their things.

- They're like me because all of these characters.
